Reasonably fuel efficient, powerful enough for commuting, has some of the the best autonomous driving tech, and competitively priced compared to other top-trim midsize sedans.
Subject to change when Kia Optima is refreshed

it’s a little weird looking.... (agree no less than the Camry...)

Previous gen was perfect looking. Just simple and well proportioned and not looking like...this. Ive seen both the previous and current gen at work. Having driven the previous gen, I kinda liked the car even in base model rental spec. So im sure this one is a good car too but just fugly.

I’m still partial to the Accord. The Sonata is a nice alternative if you like the style. Both are more stylish than the Camry.
But if you want bulletproof legacy tech, the Camry still has exclusively NA engines.

The Kia Forte is the unsung hero.

If the Forte adds Highway Drive Assist I will bring it into consideration

I don’t want Highway Drive Assist to go to sleep. I want it so I can scan for hazards alongside the road.

I don’t want it because I almost never drive on the freeway. #justsmalltowthings.

Right before I got my Alltrack, I briefly considered a yellow Sonata SEL Plus.

I would take another Kia Optima in a second. And the Sonata is included in that, too.
I actually catch myself missing my old Optima. It may not have done anything exceptionally, but it did everything above average. Comfortable, stylish, efficient. Oh, and strong.

After this accident, it drove like nothing happened. I hit a Chevy Sonic sedan going around 45.

The Sonic knows what it did.

I really hope that that’s the last time some young dude decides to make a poorly-timed left turn across my lane. That was the 3rd time it’s happened to me . At least this guy had insurance and didn’t flee the scene.
The noise that Sonic made as they tried to drive it out of the intersection made me cringe. I’d never heard a car make that sound before. Meanwhile, my car was like ‘pssh, whatever’.

The Hybrid looks better, more or less same performance, and they’re offering $4K off now
